First time since October

So I woke up this morning and decided it was time. Since October my jersey has been hanging in my closet. I hadn't thought about wearing it it just happend. Maybe I was in pain over last year's playoffs or just shamed over what we did. But this morning as I was choosing what to wear to work a white jersey shined through my closet. So I wiped off the dust and put it on. And it felt great. To see the big red white and blue C gleaming back at me in the mirror was fantastic. I'm going to watch the pitchers and catchers tomorrow its here. Spring training is here and its time to show some Cubbie pride. Lets go Cubs

My favorite time of year.

Spring training is only 2 days away. By far this is my favorite time of year. I am at my peak optomism right now. I currently have at least twelve scenarios in which I have the Cubs winning the season. I've already purchased my plane ticket for October. I have my champagne on ice. I am truly ready. Pitchers and catchers practice Saturday. Cubs will win this year

Sick of waiting

I have been a Cubs from my entire life. They have given me some of the greatest moments of my life. Yet at the same time they have given me my biggest heartbreaks. In 1984 it was Steve F'n Garvey. In 1989 our bullpen and Zimmer melted down. In 1998 we couldn't score a run. In 2003 we were five outs away. I can point a lot of fingers that year but I don't blame Bartman, I don't blame Alex Gonzales 9even though a little leaguer could have turned that double play), I don't blame Dusty. For this one I blame Bernie Mack. You don't change the words to Take Me Out To The Ball Game. In 2007 we stranded over 30 base runners. You can't win games like that. Which brings us to this year, Did anybody wanna be there besides Fontenot? What did we win 97 games for? Just to get embarrased for 27 innings. Game 3 was the only game that was even competitve. I can accept the losing if we actually try but this series we barely even went through the motions. I am so disgusited right now that I have only been able to eat like a fat girl since last Wednesday. I feel like Tina Turner. I know Ike is gonna just hit me again but I love him so much and maybe if I can change a few things about myself he'll stop, But the reality of it is that Ike will never stop hitting me and I'll still be stuck here waiting for next year.....
